Jennifer Lopez donates medical equipment to children's hospital in Panama

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez gave today at the Hospital del Niño of Panama medical equipment that will "improve health care" for children of this country, where on Thursday opened its new world tour.

The artist, considered the world's most powerful celebrity by Forbes magazine, delivered the telemedicine equipment on behalf of the Lopez Family Foundation, which he created with his sister, Linda, in an official ceremony attended by First Lady Panama, Marta Linares, and the Minister of Health, Franklin Vergara.

"Having this foundation provides medical care is truly a blessing," because "we have the opportunity to offer health care and health education to thousands of people" in Puerto Rico and now in Panama, said the star of blockbusters like "Maid in Manhattan" (2002).

As reported by the Foundation of the artist in a statement, donated equipment consists of seven centers of telemedicine to be installed in different pediatric centers in Panama this year.

La cantante y actriz Jennifer López entregó hoy en el Hospital del Niño de Panamá equipos médicos que permitirán "mejorar la asistencia sanitaria" a la infancia de este país, donde el jueves abrirá su nueva gira mundial de conciertos.

La artista, considerada la celebridad más poderosa del mundo por la revista Forbes, entregó los equipos de telemedicina en nombre de la Fundación de la Familia López, que creó junto a su hermana, Linda, en un acto oficial al que asistieron la primera dama de Panamá, Marta Linares, y el ministro de Salud, Franklin Vergara.

"Tener esta Fundación que ofrece asistencia médica es en verdad una bendición", porque "tenemos la oportunidad de ofrecer asistencia sanitaria y educación para la salud a miles de personas" en Puerto Rico y ahora en Panamá, expresó la protagonista de éxitos de taquilla como "Maid in Manhattan" (2002).

Según informó la Fundación de la artista en un comunicado, el equipo donado consiste en siete centros de telemedicina que se instalarán en diferentes centros pediátricos de Panamá este año.

Se trata de "equipos de diagnósticos digitales y estaciones de vídeo-conferencias que permitirán a los médicos interactuar y colaborar en los diagnósticos y planes de tratamientos de sus pacientes, junto a colegas de otros centros panameños y médicos especialistas de Hospitales de Niños en Los Ángeles, Estados Unidos".

"Linda y yo estamos agradecidas de poder dar nuevas oportunidades a los niños y a la comunidad médica en este país", manifestó la artista, de 42 años, que apareció ante la prensa con una rizada melena rubia, unos elegantes pantalones blancos anchos y una camisa de manga larga con estampados blanco y negro.

La intérprete de temas como "Let's get loud" o "Love don't cost a thing" iniciará el próximo jueves en la capital panameña una gira mundial de conciertos que incluye presentaciones en Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Canadá y Estados Unidos.
