Jennifer Lopez says good bye to American Idol!

Jennifer López siguió los pasos de Steven Tyler al anunciar su salida del jurado de ‘‘American Idol’’ el viernes, en el segundo golpe para un programa que está al borde de una crisis de adolescencia.
López no regresará al programa con mayor raiting en Estados Unidos para una tercera temporada, informó su representante Mark Young. Tyler anunció su salida el jueves para dedicarse de lleno a su banda Aerosmith. Eso reduce el panel de jueces a uno, Randy Jackson, y se ha reportado que éste podría asumir un papel diferente en la competencia de talento cuando comience la nueva temporada en enero.

López reveló la noticia al presentador de ‘‘Idol’’ Ryan Seacrest en su programa de radio.
‘‘Me daba pavor tener esta conversación telefónica contigo’’, dijo la estrella de origen puertorriqueño. ‘‘Honestamente siento que es hora de que regrese a hacer otras cosas que suelo hacer y que dejé en pausa porque amo tanto a ’Idol’’’.
‘‘American Idol’’, de la cadena Fox, se ha mantenido como el programa más visto de la TV estadounidense durante casi una década. Pero la temporada pasada vio caer abruptamente sus índices de audiencia ante una mayor competencia de otras cadenas.

Cuando regrese para su 12a temporada en enero, ‘‘Idol’’ tendrá que ser una nueva versión de lo que solía ser: un programa poderoso que convirtió en estrellas a aspirantes como Jennifer Hudson e hizo palidecer a los canales rivales.

Ya se ha comenzado a conjeturar quiénes podrían reemplazar a López y Tyler. Los nombres de Mariah Carey y la ex finalista de ‘‘Idol’’ Adam Lambert han sido mencionados. ‘‘No me puedo imaginar a nadie más en el programa porque pasé dos años sentada junto a él’’, dijo. ‘‘Adoro a Steven y nos acercamos mucho durante ese tiempo. Nos apoyábamos mucho en una aventura que ninguno de los dos imaginó, así que es difícil saber que no lo haremos más’’.
Seacrest, el otro integrante del elenco original, se mantendrá como un punto estable en el programa. A principios de año firmó un contrato de dos años con los productores de ‘‘Idol’’ para seguir como presentador.
Los cambios en el jurado se producen tras una final de temporada que registró su índice más bajo de audiencia, 21,5 millones de espectadores, cuando Phillip Phillips se coronó vencedor.

Jennifer Lopez followed in the footsteps of Steven Tyler when he announced his departure from the jury of'' American Idol'' on Friday in the second blow to a program that is on the verge of a crisis of adolescence.

Lopez did not return to the program more raiting in the U.S. for a third season, his agent Mark Young. Tyler announced his departure on Thursday to devote himself to his band Aerosmith. That reduces a panel of judges, Randy Jackson, and has been reported that it could assume a different role in the talent competition when the new season starts in January.

Lopez broke the news to'' Idol'' presenter Ryan Seacrest on his radio show.
'' I was dreading having this telephone conversation with you,'' said the star of Puerto Rican origin. '' I honestly feel it's time to return to do other things I usually do and I left on hold because I love both 'Idol'''.
'' American Idol'' on Fox, has remained the most watched American TV for almost a decade. But last season was abruptly dropped its ratings with increased competition from other chains.

We have already started to speculate who might replace Lopez and Tyler. The names of Mariah Carey and former'' Idol'' finalist Adam Lambert have been mentioned. There is much at stake for the judges. Tyler began the exodus on Thursday by announcing that he preferred to devote himself to rock and roll.

'' I can not imagine anyone else in the program because I spent two years sitting next to him,'' he said. '' I love Steven and we move a lot during that time. We relied a lot on an adventure that neither of them imagined, so it's hard to know that we will not do more.''
Seacrest, the other original cast member, will remain a stable point in the program. Earlier this year signed a two-year contract with the producers of'' Idol'' to continue as host.
Changes occur in the jury after a season finale which registered its lowest audience, 21.5 million viewers, when Phillip Phillips was crowned winner.
